What is the opportunity?
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Lecturer to join our Higher Education Services team. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching and learning across designated programmes, supporting student engagement and achievement, and contributing to academic excellence within an online learning environment.
The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging learning materials, facilitate online teaching, provide academic guidance, and uphold institutional quality standards. Opportunities may also arise to contribute as a Subject Matter Expert in the development and review of module content.
What does success look like:
Teaching and Learning Delivery
Design, prepare, and deliver high-quality teaching materials across assigned programmes.
Ensure all content, delivery methods, and learning resources align with programme and module objectives.
Apply appropriate teaching, learning, and assessment strategies in line with institutional standards.
Demonstrate strong digital literacy and deliver effective online learning experiences.
Assessment and Feedback
Set, mark, and provide constructive feedback on assessments in accordance with institutional and partner policies.
Supervise student projects and dissertations, offering academic and research guidance.
Monitor student progress using learner analytics and provide timely interventions where necessary.
Learner Support and Engagement
Identify and respond to individual learner needs, referring students to appropriate support services when required.
Foster an inclusive, engaging, and supportive online learning environment.
Quality Assurance and Academic Standards
Contribute to internal quality assurance and enhancement processes.
Participate in module planning and review activities to ensure alignment with institutional frameworks.
Maintain accurate records of teaching activities, student engagement, and academic outcomes.
Professional Participation
Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
Complete all mandatory institutional training within the first three months of appointment.
Subject Matter Expert Responsibilities (where applicable)
Develop new module content in line with academic standards.
Review and update existing module materials as required.
What you bring to the table:
A PhD, Master’s degree, or substantial industry experience in a relevant subject area.
Experience teaching within the UK Higher Education sector.
Proven subject-specific teaching experience (HR, Finance, or Strategy).
Eligibility for Fellowship of AdvanceHE (or willingness to obtain).
Strong teamwork, communication, and digital teaching skills.
A clear commitment to student success and engagement.
Experience delivering online teaching and learning.
Experience supervising research projects or dissertations.
Relevant industry or professional experience.
