What is the opportunity?
The E-Learning Administrator is vital for the smooth and effective operation of all Learning Management System (LMS) processes for FutureLearn's Higher Education Services. Key responsibilities include successfully preparing, launching, and maintaining academic modules on the Canvas LMS for various university partners across the UK and Europe. The E-Learning Administrator works with the Senior eLearning Manager to provide the essential technical link between Content Designers, academics, and registry teams, ensuring a high-quality learner experience is delivered.
What does success look like:
Prepare and set up module components on Canvas LMS for each intake and programme, adhering to partner university processes.
Manage user account and permissions on Canvas LMS.
Configure external learning tools and set up student groups where applicable.
Coordinate the creation of new modules on Canvas with the Content Development team and other relevant stakeholders.
Monitor automations with associated systems to ensure processes are correctly executing.
Update and maintain accurate module content, ensuring the latest versions of course materials, resources, and other assets are used.
Set up and maintain module activities, including discussions, formative, and summative assessments.
Manage live session content and recordings for each module on Canvas using the proprietary asset management system (Library).
Maintain a solid understanding and coordinate activity timelines across all stakeholders, ensuring the underlying processes for module preparation are correctly implemented.
Provide second-level technical support for the Canvas LMS.
What you bring to the table:
Proven experience working as an LMS administrator or similar role within a Higher Education environment or an Online Programme Management (OPM) service.
Extensive hands-on experience with an industry-standard Learning Management System (LMS), with a preference for Instructure’s Canvas LMS.
General technical understanding of associated educational systems, such as Student Information Systems (SIS).
Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with content designers, academics, registry teams, and multiple university partners.
Strong time management and organisational skills, with a proven ability to manage time efficiently and proactively handle peak periods and deadlines.
A proactive and methodical approach to problem-solving and process implementation.
High attention to detail to ensure module content and administration is accurate.
