About the role
We are seeking an experienced Academic Quality Lead to join our Registry team, playing a key role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of our academic provision.
This is a varied role that combines team leadership with hands-on quality assurance and academic administration. You will support the Registrar in delivering robust quality processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement with a strong focus on the learner experience.
You’ll work collaboratively across programme teams and central functions, acting as a key point of contact for academic quality, governance, and enhancement activities.
Key responsibilities
Provide leadership for the Academic Quality function, overseeing processes, procedures and team activity
Support the Registrar in delivering effective quality assurance and enhancement across programmes
Advise programme teams on validation, modification and approval processes
Coordinate and support quality assurance activities across the organisation
Lead on the learner voice system, ensuring effective two-way communication with students
Organise and facilitate panels (e.g. academic misconduct, complaints, appeals), ensuring clear documentation and follow-up actions
Support annual monitoring, programme evaluation, and continuous improvement processes
Lead on timetabling and scheduling of module delivery across terms
Act as Secretary to academic committees and working groups, preparing and maintaining accurate records
Support quality enhancement projects and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date
Promote inclusive practice and a strong culture of quality across all areas
What we’re looking for
Essential
Educated to A-level (including GCSE Maths and English)
Strong IT skills, with the ability to work confidently across systems and data
Experience working collaboratively across multiple teams in a fast-paced environment
Ability to prioritise workload and work independently
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence colleagues
Ability to maintain accurate records and produce clear documentation
High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive information
Desirable
Experience within an academic administration or Registry environment in higher education
Familiarity with LMS platforms
Experience of timetabling and scheduling
Strong note-taking skills
